Season 6 is nearly over - get ready for Season 7

The current competitive season is almost at an end.

Blizzard Entertainment

Season 6 has nearly come to an end, which means 1) we’re going to get a few days off from ranked while the next season revs up and 2) we’re going to get some sweet, sweet competitive points that can be converted into those elusive golden weapons we all crave.

Season 6 has been an experiment in length—originally, seasons were one month. Then, the system was switched over to three months. After that dragged on a bit too long, we’re now at a nice, two month medium.

Season 6 will draw to a close on Saturday, October 28th, at 5:00 PDT. At that point, rewards will be distributed. Players who competed their placement matches will earn a spray, player icon, and some competitive points. Top 500 players get an extra special icon and an animated version of the Season 6 spray.

Here’s the breakdown as to how many points you can expect to earn:

SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 65 CP
SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 125 CP
SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 250 CP
SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 500 CP
SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 750 CP
SR 3500-3999 (Master): 1250 CP
SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 1750 CP

After a three day break, you can expect Season 7 to start at Wednesday, October 31 at 5:00 p.m. PDT.
