How to watch the Overwatch World Cup’s Sydney Group Stage: Streams, schedule and results

Last year’s third place finishers return to the World Cup stage.

Blizzard Entertainment

The second of the qualifying stages for the 2017 Overwatch World Cup will be held in Syndey this weekend between Groups C and D. These two groups are anchored by their highest seeds who will each come into the qualifier as massive favorites to advance.

In Group C, the highest seed is 2016 World Cup third place finishers, Sweden, who will once again come in with one of the strongest rosters in the tournament. Three of the players from the 2016 roster will be making their return to the World Cup competition. Also notable in this Swedish roster is that four of their six members hail from the same team — Misfits — meaning that they should be more comfortable with each other thanks to working together for longer.

Group D’s favorites heading into the qualifier will be Finland who are essentially playing with the entire Rest in Pyjamas team. The only non RIP member on the Finnish representatives is Team EnVy’s Timo “Taimou “ Kettunen. However, Group D’s competition should be fairly strong with the relatively underrated Spanish and Japanese teams coming into the group in second and third seeds.
