Halloween Terror returns to Overwatch on October 9

We know the date of the event, plus a tantalizing hint

Blizzard Entertainment

Halloween Terror is the spookiest Overwatch event around. Every year, we get new skins that range from cute costumes like Corsair Ana to full on monster transformations like Dragon Symmetra. Even better, there’s a PVE mode, Junkenstein’s Revenge, and some alternate universe lore. Add in a couple of appropriately decorated maps with pumpkins and cobwebs, and it’s a fun way to spice up your October.

This year, we’re getting an interesting hint:

Up until now, the Halloween Terror storyline has centered around a band of adventurers. The Alchemist (Ana), the Gunslinger (McCree), the Archer (Hanzo), and the Soldier (76) made up the first wave. The Countess (Widowmaker), the Swordsman (Genji), the Monk (Zenyatta) and the Viking (Torbjorn) joined the lineup last year.

The heroes fight against the assembled forces of the Witch of the Wilds and Dr. Junkenstein, The story has centered around the besieged town of Aldersbrunn, a modified Eichenwalde, with Reinhardt serving as its weary, betrayed lord. The above puzzle suggests that we’re heading to Chateau Guillard this year, although we did find out in the recent Developer Update that the event won’t have a massive upgrade in scale.

Halloween Terror will also bring a new wave of legendary skins, priced at 3000 credits a piece. While, previous event skins and cosmetics will return at a reduced price.
