Scott “Bearhands” Tester, former director of player personnel of the NYXL and current General Manager of the USA Overwatch World Cup team, is joining the Florida Mayhem as an assistant general manager, the team announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
Tester has been deeply involved in the Overwatch League since its earliest days, working as an employee at Blizzard during the time that the league was created. Following his time at Blizzard, Tester moved on to the New York Excelsior, shortly before the launch of the first OWL season. The NYXL went on to win two stage championships, and remained a strong team throughout the entire inaugural season. Tester left NYXL just a few months into the season in April of 2018.
Since then, Tester has remained involved in the competitive Overwatch scene shortly transitioning over to a General Manager position with the Team USA Overwatch World Cup team.
Tester will be joining the Florida Mayhem as the assistant general manager and will look to help the team improve over its 11th place finish last year.
