Joining the likes of Toronto, Atlanta, Hangzhou and quite a few more, Washington, D.C. has joined the Overwatch League ahead of the 2019 season. The team name will be the Washington Justice and the organization will be represented by a shield bearing the red, white and blue of the American flag. The team revealed both its name and logo with a short video on Twitter.
While there’s little else other than the logo announced for the Justice so far, we do know some of the support staff, as well as one player. The team will be coached by Kim “WizardHyeong” Hyeong-seok, who previously coached for NYXL, as well as Molly “AVALLA” Kim, who has previously coached in Contenders Korea, and analyst mkL, who has previously worked in Contenders North America. Washington has also already signed at least one player, picking up former-NYXL tank player, Song “Janus” Joon-hwa shortly after he became a free agent earlier this year.
The Washington Justice is one of the eight organizations joining the Overwatch League as a part of its year two expansion plan. Season two of the Overwatch League will begin in February with a new format as a part of its expansion.
