A second Canadian team has now officially joined the Overwatch League as the Vancouver Titans. The Titans unveiled their name and logo as part of a launch event on Saturday night. The team’s color scheme is blue and green and the logo looks to be some kind of hairy Bigfoot or Sasquatch-type monster, which is appropriate for the Vancouver area and its traditional sports presence.
Unlike most teams which are still building their roster of players, the Titans have a fairly fleshed out line up already, having picked up the Korean Contenders squad RunAway. RunAway competed in both Contenders Korea seasons last year and finished in the semifinals of season one and took home first place in season two, giving the roster an impressive track record before ever setting foot on the Overwatch League stage.
The Titans roster includes:
- Choi “JJANU” Hyeon-woo
- Park “Bumper” Sang-beom
- Kim “SLIME” Sung-jun
- Lee “Twilight” Ju-seok
- Kim “Haksal” Hyo-jong
- Lee “Stich” Choong-hui
- Lee ‘Hooreg” Dong-eun
- Seo Min-soo
The Titans are one of eight new teams joining the Overwatch League this year. To help adjust for these new teams, Blizzard is changing up the format of the league slightly which should help alleviate the stressful schedule of season one. The Overwatch League’s second season will kick off in February.
